The Spartan Hall of Fame was formed in 2007 and honors past alumni, coaches and persons who have had a significant impact on the Doane Academy athletic program. Nominations can be sent to the Director of Athletics.
S tephanie Spicer
Inducted June 7, 2007
Stephanie Spicer, a resident of Levittown P.A. was recently inducted as a charter member into the newly formed Spartan Hall of Fame at Doane Academy in Burlington N.J. From 2001- 2005 Stephanie led the Lady Spartan soccer, basketball and softball teams. In soccer, she netted over 50 career goals and is one of only two females at the school to have scored over 1,000 career points in basketball finishing with 1,001. In softball, Stephanie led the team accumulating three no hitters and 24 homeruns in four years. She helped the softball team to a Penn Jersey Title in 2003. Stephanie was All League eight times as a 1st team Penn Jersey Athlete. She was inducted on June 8th, at St. Mary's Hall Award Night.
Kulwinder Gill
Inducted June 7, 2007
Kulwinder Gill, a resident of Allentown N.J. was recently inducted as a charter member into the newly formed Spartan Hall of Fame at Doane Academy in Burlington N.J. From 1999- 2002 Kulwinder accrued 2,176 points on the basketball court. He continues to hold the all-time high score in Burlington County history. Kulwinder led the Spartan soccer and golf teams. In his junior and senior seasons, he netted over 50 goals and was voted team MVP. As the number one golfer, Kulwinder received team MVP honors in his junior and senior seasons.
Mr. Frank Atzert
Inducted May 28, 2008 
From the early 1970’s through 2005 Frank Atzert was a staple behind the plate during St. Mary’s Hall – Doane Academy softball games. He umpired every home game that the Lady Spartans played in that time period. The former South Jersey Umpire Association president and Burlington resident umpired many Penn Jersey championship games and countless regular season contests. Frank also umpired Doane Academy baseball games held at the school. His hustle, enthusiasm and dedication enhanced the overall spirit within the athletic program.
Peg Sharp
Inducted May 27, 2009

Affectionately named ‘Aunt Peg’ by her students, Peg Sharp came to St. Mary’s Hall in 1954 and took control of the women’s athletic program. For twenty five years ‘Aunt Peg’ was the coach of the Women’s Basketball and Field Hockey teams. She was in charge of all women’s athletics and taught Physical Education for grades one through twelve. During her tenure, Peg was a leader at St. Mary’s Hall and will be remembered not just as a great coach but as a great friend to all of her students.
Michael Payne
Inducted May 26, 2010 
Michael Payne is clearly in a league of his own when it comes to soccer at Doane Academy. In 1992 he accumulated 50 goals and garnered accolades from all over the state and country. He was voted Trenton Times, Burlington County Times and South Jersey Soccer ‘Player of the Year’. Michael was also recognized by Umbro as an All American. After netting 116 high school goals he continued his career at Columbia University where in 1996 he was voted All Ivy first team and SJSCA College Player of the Year.
