Planned Giving
Planned Giving offers the opportunity to contribute to Doane Academy's future by planning for a special kind of gift. While cash contributions are always welcome, there exist a wide variety of creative and flexible options that can mutually benefit you and the school. Some examples of planned gifts include: real estate, tangible personal property, life insurance and retirement plans, life income gifts, trusts, bequests, and more.
Life Income
A Charitable Lead Trust provides current income to Doane Academy while sheltering your heirs' inheritance from taxes. Income generated from the assets placed in trust is paid to the school for a period of years, after which the property is transferred to your heirs at a substantial tax savings.
A Charitable Remainder Trust irrevocably transfers cash, securities or other property to a trust for the benefit of Doane Academy. The donor or designated beneficiary receives a fixed dollar amount or percentage of the assets at least annually for life or for a fixed term up to 20 years. Upon death, or the end of the term, the trust terminates and the assets are transferred to the School.
Bequests
Through a gift in your will, you can be part of the education of future generations.
