SENIORS NAMED AP SCHOLARS

Each year the College Board recognizes outstanding achievement on the Advanced Placement (AP) exams. Those high school students who score a three or higher on an AP exam are most often awarded college credit for the course. Faculty members who teach AP courses have most often taken special AP prep courses themselves and devote a significant amount of additional time preparing their students for the tests which take place in May.

Students who earn a score of 3 or higher on 3AP exams are recognized as AP Scholars. Students who earn an average score of 3.5 or higher in all AP exams are recognized as AP Scholars of Distinction.

Doane Academy is proud to announce that 17% of its seniors over the last two years have earned the recognition as either AP scholars or distinguished AP scholars. Those recognized include: Michael Carter '08 (Air Force Academy), Kaitlyn Gibbs '08 (George Washington University), Lawrence Hatez '09, Jon Notwick '08 (Marlboro College, VT), Ben Scalf '09, Lauren Seaman '08 (Monmouth College), Kevin Gray '08 (Lafayette), Steven Roach '08 (Harvard University).
